Monitor CRMS Supporting Mitchell Shire through COVID-19

"I don't know where we would be if we didn't have Monitor CRMS. Pre-COVID, a proper database felt like a "nice-to-have", but it has proved to be essential. It should always be essential."

Background and Challenges

At the beginning of COVID-19 outbreak in Australia, Mitchell Shire Council's business engagement started to grow at a substantial rate. There was a need to capture and track business engagements, and communicate to specific and individual business cohorts. This would be critical to the success of their response.

Council also had the additional consideration of taking on eight new staff via secondment and through the "Working for Victoria" program.

A user friendly and functional program would be paramount to their needs, as they engaged in specialised areas, such as grants and business advice.

How Monitor CRMS Helped

Fortunately Michell Shire Council had been a Monitor CRMS customer prior to COVID-19.

They were well placed to respond to the ever-changing situation. The Monitor CRMS toolset allowed for segmented communication campaigns, to ensure the latest important information reached businesses who need it the most.

The eight new staff members could also easily capture their engagements history and the situation of their specialised area.

Measurable Results

By running targeted and segmented campaigns, the team at Mitchell Shire have reported a considerable spike in the number of communications reaching their audience.

The team have also seen great value in the collated business engagement data, for planning and informing upcoming initiatives and preparation of their next Economic Development Strategy.

"This will enable us to make more informed decisions for our business community", notes Amy Reynolds, Coordinator Economic Development at Mitchell Shire Council.

Thankfully COVID-19 looks to be under control. However, we cannot know when the next crisis situation will occur, whether it be COVID-19, bushfires, or other natural disasters that we have seen in recent years, right across Australia.

If you think your team's database and your ability to quickly engage with your business community should be essential, get in touch with daley@urbanenterprise.com.au or 0499 399 302 to discuss your needs and book a demo.
